Look for traces of the seven Frisian Nassau stadtholders (stewards) in Leeuwarden. The best examples are two palaces: the Prinsentuin park and the Stadtholder Graves in the Grote or Jacobean Church. Street names, buildings and monuments recall the link with the royal family. There are even some modern murals that portray the Frisian Nassaus.
